Abstract

A MANOVA (or multivariate analysis of variance) is a test that compares the means of two or more groups across more than one dependent variable. A MANOVA may include one or more than one independent variable. The “multivariate” portion implies multiple dependent variables. Whenever groups must be compared across multiple dependent variables, a MANOVA is needed. The data should have an approximate normal distribution, in order to use this test.
