Abstract

The chapters in this section provide useful reflections on the notions of partnership between young people and adults. Many student voice typologies exist that highlight the types of relationships that can occur between adults and young people, including Roger Hart’s Ladder of Participation (1992), Dana Mitra’s pyramid (Mitra, 2005), Michael Fielding’s concept of radical collegiality (2004), Ken Jones and Daniel Perkin’s spectrum of youth-adult partnership, and Ben Kirshner’s (2008) framework of guided participation.
