Abstract
Advertising is prominent in every aspect of our highly commercialized society. As a conduit for capitalism, advertising acts as a public pedagogy, subtly teaching us what to think or believe, how to behave, and who or what has value within society. Without realizing the subconscious influence of advertising, people are led to make choices about what products to buy and what ideas to buy into.
