Abstract
Pan-African rese arch centres and networks are important functional components for the regionalization of higher education processes. Using the Functional, Organizational and Political Approach (FOPA) model, research centres and networks are part of the functional approach to regionalization and build on collaborative activities and improved alignment of sub-regional and national policies to facilitate increased co-operation for knowledge production and application.
