Abstract
As free men we do not want to see on the face of the earth either freemen or slaves, victors or vanquished: we should join together to work and to prosper. We are the initiators of a crusade of public education, the inspiration of a cultural enthusiasm equal in fervor to that which yesterday put our race at the service of the church and the conquest.
