Abstract
As I did whenever anything major happened in my life, that night I went over to Abs’ house and knocked softly on her window. She peered through the blinds, smiled at me, and waved toward the back yard. We had been doing this for years. Abs had a lot of time to herself at home, and so her house was ground zero for us whenever we didn’t want or have time to go out to the river.
