Abstract

This chapter reflects on The Plague by Albert Camus (1948) and lessons for education. Similar to The Rebel this novel hasn’t been engaged in significant depth as an educational text. But there seems some potential in doing do. In this chapter I use the rise and treatment of plague in Oran as a metaphor for describing the challenge of the absurd to the education system.
