Abstract
Calls for sustainable transformation in higher education are increasingly becoming louder across the world but more so, on the African continent. This is because right across the continent, societies are increasingly becoming frustrated as education systems which started off with much promise following political independence are either producing graduates of low quality; who experience long periods of unemployment and whose benefit to society remains questionable as the problems of poverty, inequality and lost identities persist.
