Abstract
Each semester, faculty and academic professionals in colleges and universities across the country encounter students who require academic support to be successful in their studies. These students oftentimes come reluctantly to that support. Typically, the student is singled out through various placement exams, or through diagnostic testing, or, after the semester is underway and the course instructor recognizes a problem with the student’s performance.
