Abstract
The two of us met when we were doctoral students at the University of Oregon in 1996. We came from different parts of the world, Mary from Australia and Hafdís from Iceland but we felt we had more in common than what separated us. We both had a long experience in education, Mary in special education and leadership, Hafdís in general and special education mostly as a classroom teacher in first to seventh grade.
