Abstract

In this chapter, we explore the structural and interpersonal conditions that appear to foster collaboration and a positive and action-oriented approach to meeting the needs of students with disabilities and their families. We begin by re-visiting and expanding upon key frameworks for collaboration that were touched on in Chapter 2 and contribute to our thinking about what constitutes effective collaboration. We then build upon these frameworks by describing parents’ views of effective collaboration.
