Abstract

In January 2000 I was officially appointed the first Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Diversity and Community at Texas Christian University. Our new Chancellor had given a number of major speeches during his first semester at TCU. The importance of diversity was a key point made during these speaking engagements. Given our history of talking about the importance of diversity, followed by merely actions of accommodation, I emailed this new Chancellor.
