Abstract

This chapter is going to critically analyse another widely used interpretation of quality in the higher education sector: quality as transformation. It is proposed by Harvey and Green (1993) that the empowerment of the student is a key element of transformative quality, as education is an ongoing process of transformation of students, including their cognitive transcendence in the learning process.
