Abstract

Evel Knievel knew that his job was to entertain. In order to do that, he had to know his audience. Over time, as people became familiar with his current repertoire of stunts, he had to evolve his act (i.e., make it more dangerous) to appeal to their changing appetites but, at the same time, survive to perform another show.
