Abstract
In this chapter, the author reflects on immigration experiences during her journey through academia and on how exposure to critical pedagogy and autoethnography contributed to her personal perspectives and overall worldview. Through vignettes and theoretical discussion, she explores the symbolic violence inherent in the process of personal decolonization.
