This is an account of the experiences of a group of Chinese women scientists and engineers in pursuit of their personal and professional goals in the U.S. What deserves our attention is their dedication to overcoming the obstacles they face from being caught in between the two worlds: The U.S. vs. the Chinese, the sciences vs. the humanities, feminist aspirations vs.
