Abstract
Michel Foucault’s research and subsequent theory of discipline and punishment asserts that society is made up of sophisticated and highly constructed forms of detainment, which are intricately and precisely developed with the explicit purpose of enforcing (and maintaining) power over the undesirable and anomalous people in society. In this chapter, the population is made up of unaccompanied immigrant minors from Central America who recently arrived to the United States.
