Abstract
“Mi mama ya te está esperando frente al mercado. [My mother is waiting in front of the market]” Chema sent this message to me just minutes after I left my house to meet Chema’s mother, Vicenta, at the market. It was exactly at 9 AM. Vincenta and I planned to meet at that time, but when I glance at the time and it reads 8:59 it occurs to me that I’m more than on time. It takes me exactly three minutes to walk to the market from my house in San Juan.
