Abstract

The utterances shared above are racial microaggressions—insults that occur automatically and that are often unintentional. They happen on a daily basis and maintain a worldview of White supremacy (Sue, Capodilupo, & Holder, 2008). As a White female doctoral student in a psychology graduate program, my role in this research study, conducted on campus, was to deliver racial microaggressions to Black female college students at a Predominantly White Institution (PWI) in an effort to examine their cognitive consequences.
