Abstract
I am stirred by an early childhood memory of a school field trip to an art gallery with my grade one classmates. My experience with a particular painting I saw on this visit has stayed with me ever since, and I often find myself reflecting on the nature of this and other early encounters with art. The painting was the subject of a guided group discussion, facilitated by an arts educator at the museum.
