Abstract

Orr (1992) espoused the rise of an ecologically literate and ecologically competent citizenry who understand global issues, but who also know how to live well in their places. According to Orr, ‘unless we learn how to manage problems of global security, sustainability anywhere for any length of time will be moot’ (p. 2).
