Abstract

The social network site (SNS) Facebook is a relatively new space of technology use that is explicitly connected to identity performance. It was first established in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and his college friends at Harvard University, and was initially open only to those attending Harvard University but slowly expanded to other ivy league schools, then to other universities, then to high schools in 2005, then finally to anyone over 13 years of age in 2006.
