Abstract
Internationalization (kokusaika; 国際化) is a familiar topic for most Japanese. In Japanese higher education, the internationalization initiative is one of the top priorities. Ninomiya et al. (2009) summarize the history of internationalization efforts by Japanese higher education since the end of WWII.
