Abstract
In an interview with me, Jerry spoke of a negative relationship he had with a teacher who was autocratic, power wielding, rude, cynical and cold. That teacher acted as if she were impervious to error, fear, insecurity, and nervousness. She seemed devoid of feeling, could not empathize with learners, nor ever begin to think of them as equal to her.
