Abstract
This highly regarded feminist scholar and pedagogue thus concedes that those of us whom she identifies as “literature professors” do not have to deal with the issue of rape, that we “should not feel like wimps” if we leave it off our syllabi. However, I read in her text an implicit exhortation that we not elide the subject, even though she acknowledges that addressing it with learners can be fraught and demanding.
