Abstract
My lived experiences of belonging and not belonging with respect to the issues of ethnicity and identity are framed by both the Australian and Hungarian contexts in which I developed. These were framed by my parents’ understandings as I grew up as well as their own [dis]located experiences of place. The development of my ethnic self always had a second-handedness and remains one step removed.
