Abstract

Educators, policy makers, parents and others are concerned with student attainment, which is directly linked to the initial competencies of teachers and their ongoing professional development. This chapter sets out to critically present the key aspects of science teacher professional development in the UAE, such as teaching excellence, the advancement of learning, critical thinking and meticulous and thoughtful assessment of students.
