Abstract
Kyle was cool and calm in almost any circumstance, but as he sat in the deli waiting for Tash, he felt something unfamiliar: nerves. He’d barely spoken to her in two months, and he practically stalked her via text messaging before pinning her down for brunch. After New Year’s he knew she was in bad shape, but he didn’t know how bad. He was afraid to find out. He was on his third cup of coffee by the time Tash finally arrived.
