Abstract

Clothes, adornment, fashion and grooming are themes that have resonated through four generations of women in my family. Dresses have always been a big deal for us. Hailing from Europe, my grandmother and mother brought with them a sensibility and sense of style quite foreign to the Australian vernacular in the 1940s.
