Abstract
“Let me get that for you, Mama Sales,” Davis says, as he pulls the chair out for Mama at our kitchen table. It is Thursday evening. Mama has just been released from the hospital. I have not been home since Tuesday night, and want to take a shower and sleep for eight hours. The last two days have been fuzzy, and the last thing I clearly remember is talking to Davis in the stairwell.
