  • Chapter
Qualities of Education in a Globalised World

Part of the book series: The World Council of Comparative Education Societies ((CIEDV))

Abstract

This chapter focuses on the quality of education in Kyrgyzstan, with quality defined as outcomes in international student assessments. I also explore the impact of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2006 and 2009 (Schleicher 2009; Shamatov & Sainazarov, 2010) on the quality of secondary education in Kyrgyzstan. In 2006, Kyrgyzstan, along with other 56 other countries participated in PISA.
