Abstract
The previous chapter detailed the complex and rapid changes occurring throughout our society in the postmodern era of a global economy, and the resultant impact of these changes on the career development of all individuals. It is also clear from the discussion in chapter 10 that lifelong learning is not an option but a necessity in the 21st century.
