Abstract
In 2009, the NGA hired the company Student Achievement to develop curriculum standards that are “robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers” (CCSSO, 2010, p. 1). These standards were designed to prepare students to compete successfully in the global market.
