Abstract

Social interaction patterns of student-teacher negotiation developed in Mr. Frederek’s classroom climate with cultural power somewhat in play. Student-teacher negotiation of classroom culture, norms, and values resulted in social interaction patterns that enabled Mr. Frederek to maintain control in order to teach science content and prevent student suspension.
