Critical Analysis of Economics of Education Theories with Regard to the Quality of Education

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze critically hegemonic discourses and to reveal critical approaches on “the quality of education”. First, the conceptual and loaded meaning of the word of “quality” will be revealed. Then the relation between “quality” and “education”, the quality indicators of education according to Human Capital Theory and other theories which are used as main references in the mainstream economics of education will be discussed.
