Abstract

“Nan, can you make me some tea and toast?” Nan and toast are two of the most common words spoken at the home of these grandparents. Mrs. Jane Byrne, more commonly known as Nan, makes the best toast in the world as suggested by her seven children, 13 grandchildren, and husband of 53 years, Mr. Jack Byrne (pop). Jane and Jack married on November 5th, 1957, in the small town of Goat Island located on the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador (NL).
