Abstract
Grandparents are a vital part of today’s family and grandparenthood is a distinct stage of family life. Grandparents take on many direct and indirect roles in the lives of both their adult children and grandchildren. It can be difficult to define exactly what a grandparent is since they mean so many different things to different individuals.
