Abstract

This chapter will describe the perspectives of three principals of Bowen Island Community School during the years 2004–2011. Specifically, the chapter will examine their beliefs on the moral purposes of schooling and their role in setting and sustaining this purpose, particularly in relation to what has been termed “character education” or social responsibility and their synergy with the goals of environmental education.
