Abstract

The question of how to deal with minority children whose families have recently migrated has been central in scientific and political debates in Germany and France since the beginning of the first ‘guest workers’ immigration after the Second World War and following the independence of some French colonies in the 1950s and 1960s (Mecheril, 2004).
