Abstract
Retaining new teachers continues to challenge school districts nationwide. National statistics report that those entering the teaching profession leave at alarming rates (Ingersoll, 2001). It is not uncommon for teachers to leave after just one year in the classroom, and others often leave within their first five years (Darling-Hammond, 1997; Ingersoll. 2002; Odell & Huling, 2000).
