Part of the book series: Comparative and International Education ((CIEDV,volume 13))

Abstract

The chapters of this volume are based on papers prepared for the International Workshop on Higher Education Reforms which took place in Mexico City in November 2009, organized under the auspices of the Department for Educational Research at the Centre for Research and Advanced Studies (DIE, Cinvestav).1 Although the discussion of “reform” and “change” was the common denominator of all the workshops, each had a particular theme. The theme of the Mexican workshop was “State and market in higher education (HE)”.
