Abstract

Much has been written about the effect of neo-liberalism on university life and the changes it has brought about in this sector, rendering “competitivity,” “entrepreneurship” and “marketability” important key mantras (Bowl, 2010; Giroux & Searls Giroux, 2004). One area which has particularly been affected in this regard and which receives limited attention, in the related literature, is university continuing education (UCE), despite its long history and the variety of purposes it serves, from country to country.
