Abstract
In the previous section a range of positions on the body and the processes of embodiment were examined in relation to their efficacy in understanding the role of the body in teaching and learning. In this section, there is a shift in emphasis from this theoretical examination of the pedagogic body to an investigation of the pedagogic body in text; the ways in which the body has been conceived over time in syllabus documents which guide teaching practice.
