Abstract
In our family, the dissertation process lasted about three years. From the family’s point of view, it was a long period during which we lived quite a normal family life: the children grew up, we worked and had our hobbies, fixed up our home, lived every moment, and planned for the future. The demanding dissertation process was linked into our everyday life and became a part of it. Mother-Tuija who labored with her doctoral thesis gave us an opportunity to participate by telling us about her work, about the plans concerning it and its progress.
