Abstract

Teaching profession is not particularly popular among the young people of today in Sweden and becoming a teacher in science or technology has got almost no attraction whatsoever. At the same time, the society is increasingly dependent on technological know-how. How can we make young people more interested in science and technology studies? How can we make the teaching career more tempting in the eyes of the young? What is the role of technology as a school subject and what is the role of the teachers in promoting interest in technology? It seems that technology as a school subject is still struggling to find its identity and place in the school curriculum.
