Abstract

It has been three years since stepping into the messy business of change in educational settings. I have seen, heard and done much; yet at other times I feel Ihave done little. As an educator, this tension often plays an ever-present tug of war inside me. Add to this, a school district’s initiative in change, and this tension can be ever consuming. How do I map a course that will enable me to enrich my practice? What will it look like when I get there? How will it affect student achievement? Who will help me to get there? These and many more questions have been swimming through my mind during the past three years. I have been careful, cautiously stepping forward.
