Abstract
In recent years the value of educational drama has become recognised. In many instances, the drama, or theatrical piece, is simply performed for spectators so as to raise awareness about HIV. In other instances, the drama is interactive. Informed by theatre for social development interactive theatre aims to bring change – spectators, passive beings in the theatrical phenomenon become subjects, actors, transformers of the dramatic action (Boal, 1985: 122). Getting involved in an experience allows the audience members to go through a journey that can enable transformation and generation of new world views.
