Abstract

I walked into a preschool classroom for the first time since I had decided to become a teacher. I was there to do an observation for one of my first Child Development classes at Truman College. I had few memories of my own experience in preschool from when I was a child, and I was excited to see what the class would be like. I vividly recall the room, with several tables where lunch was being set up near the entrance. The room was L-shaped, with the bend being at the far end from the entrance. Around the corner were several children playing with connecting blocks at a table. All throughout the room there were shelves filled with toys. In the main part of the room, right next to the bend, there was a bookshelf and a large rug with a CD player on the floor next to it.
