Abstract

This chapter will explain how the themes discussed in the book were discovered in the grounded theory approach taken to the research into students’ requests for help at an SSC but in terms of the role of SSCs they are revealed most dominantly in two areas. Firstly, in the ethics of undergoing insider research and secondly, in the reasoning demonstrated in attitudes shown by the refusal to accept the SSC both as an academic, and a teaching role, which should be undertaken in a given subject.
