Engineering Crystallography: From Molecule to Crystal to Functional Form

Abstract

Sonocrystallization is the application of ultrasound to influence crystallization processes. The most widely practiced approach is to initiate controlled nucleation to manage product particle size. This chapter describes the equipment which can be used and how this is applied particularly in pharmaceutical crystallization processes.
